If you have a smaller group, you should go to their other store south of Osaka station. The queue moves quicker and in hot or cold weather, you can queue indoors instead of on the street. Food is decent though.
You can grill takoyaki by yourself there. It's fun to do with friends/family and if you can't do well, staffs will always help you.

It can get pretty toasty inside, but the large glasses of beer help cool you off.

They pour the paste in the mould and you have to make the balls yourself with a stick, it's a funny experience :)We took octopus and octopus/Japanese basil takoyaki, both were pretty good. They come by 12. I would suggest at least 24 balls per adult, or 12 balls and 1/2 other meals to be full
Decent experience for me but not so much for my friends. The burners are hot so you gotta work pretty fast or use more oil than you think you need. While we were struggling the staff came by to adjust the heat. Turns out, they made it even hotter, defying all logic. It caused my friend's side to instantly stick and burn. Most of it was inedible and unsalvageable, even after we turned the heat back down. They left a giant pile of black on the table.I kinda wish they let you put all of the ingredients in yourself. The staff added the proteins, batter, and greens so all I really got to do was poke the stick around and decorate. Having it be DIY was a major selling point for me because I like to mess with my food but they took that opportunity away. Who's to say I shouldn't have five pieces of octopus in one ball and a giant clump of scallions in another?
